Privacy
This policy covers ingleby.com, run by Ingleby LLC. The site collects nothing about you itself. The advertising on it does, and this page says exactly what that is and how to turn it off.
What we collect
Nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no forms that store what you type. The search box runs in your browser. We count visits with two tools, named in the next section, and neither sets a cookie or identifies you. If you write to an address on the contact page, we have your email because you sent it, and we use it to reply.
What the hosting sees
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives the standard details of each request: your IP address, browser, and the page you asked for. We see those only as aggregate counts, such as how many people read a page in a week. We do not keep or export individual visits.
How we measure visits
Two tools count readers, and both are named here. Cloudflare Web Analytics is a small script Cloudflare adds at the edge as it serves each page; it counts page views and sets no cookie. PostHog, configured to store nothing in your browser, records which pages are read and which links are clicked, without a cookie and without identifying you.
We also verify the site with Google Search Console so we can see how it appears in Google search: which queries lead here and which pages are indexed. That verification is a record Google holds; it does not run on the page and collects nothing while you read.
Advertising cookies
Ads are shown inside articles only, by Google AdSense. Google, and the advertising partners it works with, use cookies to show ads based on your earlier visits to this site and to other sites. The main one is Google's advertising cookie. That data goes to Google, not to us; we never see who you are, only that an ad was shown.
You can turn personalized advertising off at Google's ad settings, and opt out of other vendors' personalized ads at aboutads.info. Blocking cookies in your browser also works; the site reads fine without them.
In some places Google first shows a privacy message about these ads. It remembers the choice you make there in two cookies under this site's name, FCCDCF and FCNEC. Google sets and reads them; we do not.
Children
This site is not directed at children under thirteen, and we knowingly collect nothing from them, or from anyone else.
